In 2005 ESP released ‘The Appalachians’, a three hour APT Series for PBS,
(which you can also see below, along with ‘Blood on the Mountain’, courtesy of ESP).
“During the making of ‘The Appalachians’, West Virginia (2009), I decided to produce a
follow up film about the horrors of ‘Mountain Top Removal’ coal strip mining
practices in Appalachia, and specifically, West Virginia. We feel that these films,
including ESP’s ‘The Appalachians’, ‘Coal Country’, and ‘Blood on the Mountain’, should be
available to everyone, with the hopes that public opinion will help stop the destruction of
our mountains, forests, wildlife, human life, air, water, and precious natural resources.”
